François Jeannin Solo Exhibition at AIDA Gallery
OPEN Sat/Sun 2:30 to 7:30
Opening reception 2016.11.5 from 19:00
In the last few years the work of François Jeannin has focused on the notion of closed worlds, playing with symbols and images recognised throughout the world. Taking the form of figurative painting using powerful colours, it focuses less on realistic worlds and something relating to an inner vision.
François invites us to penetrate his garden through a dense vegetation where human, legendary and natural worlds meet. A garden is by nature a closed world, an area spatially limited like that of an art gallery. Yet a place more timeless, a place where love and death, philosophy and freedom of thought live on.
François Jeannin was born in Pontarlier, east France in 1983. He later moved to Geneva where he was graduated from HEAD, Geneva University of Art and Design (Haute école d’art et de design). He continues to live and work in Geneva.
